Anwar Rasheed's action entertainer 'Chota Mumbai' is fast becoming the box office topper among the Vishu releases. The film is also attracting the right kind of audience in other languages.

When he finds time, Tamil actor Vijay makes it a point to watch films from other languages. If he likes the story, screenplay and the film's performance at the box office, he also gets a producer to buy its remake rights and stars in it.

He recently saw 'Chota Mumbai' and is convinced that the film's story will work in Tamil if there are some slight modifications. A producer has now bought the remake rights on his behalf. Vijay also has plans to buy the remake rights of a super hit Kannada film. It so happens that Tamil superstar Rajinikanth too was very impressed by the film.

Vijay's most recent blockbuster hit 'Pokkiri' too is the remake of a Telugu film by the same name.

Quite a number of films in Malayalam had evoked interest in Tamil but they were never remade in the language. Let's hope this one gets remade.
