I read another thread where people were making jokes about Pazhassi's shooting schedule getting stopped for fifth time.
I could not reply there because the thread got locked.
Dear Fkites,
Hundreds of junior artists in each frame.
Southern Super stars to be included in each schedule.(Mammootty/Sarath/Suman/Jagathy-he is superstar for me)
Busy supporting artists.(Thilakan/Nedumudi Venu/Manoj.K.Jayan/Padmapriya/Kanihaa/Jagadheesh/Suresh Krishna/Devan/Lalu Alex/Urmila Unni/Linda Arsenio etc etc.)
British actors to be included in each schedule.
Combination dates to be acquired.
Complex martial arts sequences to be shot.
Complex War sequences to be shot.
Big sets to be erected.
Weather variations to be considered for each schedule.
All for the history and people of Kerala. The majority of whom are laughing at the misfortune of the Pazhassi team.
I feel sorry for Hariharan and co. This is a movie that can take Malayalam Cinema to the next level. I know there are few rare cinema lovers who genuinely hope for the best. But as i said, they are only few. I support my master director because this must be the most frustrating yet challenging movie ever, not just for him, for Kerala or even for India. It is the story of the first Indian freedom fighter from Kerala... but unfortunately, everyone is treating it like it is just another typical crass commercial masala film.
Most of the sequences have to be shot in thick forests. I know Kannavangaadu forest. It is a place where they make illegal bombs and hide it. It is also famous for its snakes. Just few weeks back they dropped about 4 rajavambaalans in the forest. I couldn't believe the news when i heard they were shooting there. Because it is extremely unsafe. I doubt there is phone signal there too.
The cast and crew must be having a hard time making this movie for idiots like us.
The problem with us is that we are used to mediocrity. We have learned to adjust. And we are happy with the average movies. If someone tries for something bigger, we sit here and laugh at them.
If you can't appreciate their efforts, atleast respect it. If you can't respect it, at least acknowledge it. And if you can't do that, at least don't discourage them.
And as far as money matters go, we keep talking about movies and box office as though all the profits come to our bank accounts. For once, sit back and relax. Gokulam Gopalan doesn't care, then why you?
This will be the closest the malayalam film industry can get to a big budget epic film. There will not be another movie like this for at least a couple of decades. It is a movie that will make us proud.
Best of luck Haransir & co.!
