This is somewhat like a quiz.
I will put a question, mostly the answer will be of logical or reasoning.
Sometimes the question will be scientific with a specific answer.
One question will remain open minimum for two days or until I update it.
(since I am a busy person, will try my maximum to keep it regular. If any delay happened
please pardon me but surely update as soon as possible from the delay).
During this period you can put your answer for the given question.
The person who gives the most correct
answer will get TEN points.
The person gives an approximate answer or minimum 70% correct
will get 5 points.
All the questions will be updated on the front page with its correct answers before
updating with the next question. So your answers can be compared there.
Also if you have a question with answer, please pm me the same.
I will put it here and mention the author's name also.
While giving the answer for a question, if you have refferred any web site or books to get the answer
please mention it because that may help the other members to search it. Thus knowledge is exchanged.

An accident has happened on an Express Way on its left hand side road. The road is blocked with vehicles.
Now the right hand side road also blocked with vehicles.
What is the reason?
Answer:
It is nothing but human curiosity.
The driver reached the accident spot thorugh the opposite road immediately after it occured slowed his vehicle to see what happened. As a result all the following vehicles had to reduce speed and everyone passed through made a stop for a moment to have a look. This is the reason making block on the opposite side road. This is a common scene on every express way.
But this has a very big economic impact. If a vehicle is delayed for 30 seconds in an express way going an average speed of 120 KMs., the delay caused will be a big time in total. That will delay every vehicle minimum 10 to 15 minitues to reach their destination. Also the overall fuel consumtion will be increased. Just imagine the loss it makes.

QUESTION NO. 2.
IF YOU GO TO A SUPERMARKET, ON THE BEVERAGES SHELVES YOU WILL SEE MILK AND SOFT DRINKS DISPLAYED. TAKE A LOOK, THE MILK IS PACKED IN RECTANGULAR CONTAINERS BUT THE SOFT DRINKS ARE IN CYLINDRICAL METALIC OR GLASS CONTAINERS.
CYLINDRICAL CONTAINERS ARE OCCUPYING MORE SPACE THAN THE RECTANGULAR CONTAINERS. SO IT IS A LOSS.
BUT WHY THE COMPANIES ARE NOT PACKING THE SOFT DRINKS IN RECTANGULAR CONTAINERS EVEN AFTER KNOWING IT OCCUPIES MORE SPACE?
(this question has two reasons, one is economical and the other is scientific. if anyone gives one answer only will get 5 points, for two answers 10 points.)
ANSWER:
1. The Cylindrical shape is better able to withstand the pressure that can build up with
carbonated drinks. (scientific reason)
2. Soft drinks are often consumed directly from the container, the extra cost for storing in
the shelves is justified because they fit comfortably in the hands. (economical reason).
The hand friendliness of the containers is less of an issue for milk, which is typically
not consumed directly from the container.

QUESTION NO. 3
We all know Pappadam (Parppidakam or Pappad). It is an inevitable part of our Kerala style lunch.
When we fry the Pappdam in boiled oil it bubbles up.
What is the reason?

ANSWER:
Sodium Bi-carbonate is an important content of pappadam mixture. After making the pappadam we dry it under
the sunlight. During this process all the water absorbed by the pappadam mix while making it is evaporated except the water
absorbed by the Sodium Carbonate in it. Sodium Carbonate will not release the water particles under sunlight. Afterwards when we fry the pappdam in hot boiled oil, the sodium carbonate particles break out, the water contained in those particles immediately get evaporated and forming as vapour deposit within the layer of pappdam. Thus it bubbles out.

Question # 5
You have deleted a file from your computer’s hard disk for ever. But this file can still be read by a data recovery expert. Why?
Answer:
Files are stored on a Hard Disk Drive (HDD)- a spinning disk coated in magnetic material.
A read-and-write arm passes over the disk, detecting the direction of the magnetic material, which is divided into tiny sections. One direction equals “0”, the other equals “1” and the binary code represent all your files. Hitting “delete” doesn’t actually erase that code; it merely tags the disk space as available for new data. So data-recovery experts – or identity thieves – can still read the “deleted” information.
To resolve this issue an option is to use a software that overwrites a random pattern of zeroes and ones. Mac OS X lets you choose a “”secure empty trash” option, which does exactly this. Another option is to wipe the disc with a magnet, this option is being used by US Defence department. They call HDDs are shredded or “degaussed”.
