Thanx Ram for your views. Fully agree to your views. If at all, one character had to be removed from the movie, that would have been Nayanz. Total waste. One unnecessary song and some third rate skin show.

Kuselan flops in Tamil Nadu.
It's the worst flop in Rajini's career like Nattuku Oru Nallavan.
Couldn't able to post the link since Ia'm a new member.
Will update after 2 days.

Here it the true report on kuselan from various centers in TN
1. Nanganallur Velan - Kuselan has been removed from today and Hulk has been screened
2. Kovai Shanthi, Sharada, Central, Archana, Ganga theatres - On an average only 200 to 250 people are watching the movie
3. Karuru Ajantha and Kalaiarangam theatres - Both put together hardly 150 people watching the movie
4. Trichy Megastar - Hardly 50 people watched the noon show today
5. Madurai Guru, Nadana and Cinepriya - All 3 theatres put together hardly 350 people are watching the movie
Of course all these theatres reported same or less audience even yesterday being the first day of its release.
There can be nothing worse than this for someone who has repeatedly been making tall claims on his star status

Though most 'Rajini fans' celebrated the release of 'Kuselan', Rajinikanth's regret to the Kannada chauvinists for his remarks on the Hogenakkal issue has won him the wrath of many from the film industry.
South India Film Artistes' Association president Sarath Kumar wanted to know why his friend (Rajini) regretted his speech and what he meant by saying 'he had learnt a lesson'.
'He must clarify his apology to the people of Tamilnadu who have made him the Superstar,' he said.
Actor Sathyaraj said, "It is a disgrace not just to him but also to his fans. If Kannada organizations had threatened to stall the release of my movie in Karnataka, I would happily compensate my producers and distributors from my own pocket rather than apologize to them".
Actor-director Vijaya T Rajendar said, 'Rajni wanted to showcase himself as a hero. But now he proved that he is a zero.'

From Deccan Herald
When intelligence talks, wisdom listens.” Thus spake Rajnikant. If foolishness and depravity are passed off as mass entertainment, then only those whose cauliflower is worm-infested, could have a feast, we might add.
“I deeply pity them,” he adds for good measure. Well he should. We poor cinema goers!
It’s a big con to exploit brand Rajni and make a quick buck. He himself gallops in on a flying horse almost half way through the tortuous proceedings. His oneliners and quirks fall flat. If at all we are able to see flashes of the Rajni of yore, it’s towards the dying moments. By then it’s too late.
That’s when the film delves into the core values of friendship: it’s just giving and not asking and not even expecting. Something akin to the friendship between Krishna and Kuchela, from which springs the title. Nayantara, another factor to lure the lucre, really goes bust. She preens herself in front of a mirror to give that voyeuristic high. While not doing that she dances in the rain and prances with Ashok Kumar, aka Rajni.
Thanks for small mercies: she doesn’t have to utter a line. Unwittingly, there’s a cutting edge to the film. Barbers ply their scissors and razors hell for leather: they either shave people’s heads or their moustaches — clean.
Vadivelu as Saloon Shanmugam with a crocodile mush adds to the general bedlam. His antics just fail to come off.
The other blokes - Livingstone, Bhaskar, Vyapuri and a gaggle of nincompoops - really get on the nerves. One sap tells another that he would cut off the director if he delivered dialogue lines. Despite P Vasu, this project seems to be rudderless.
not that he is a classy helmsman. He goes for the lowest denomination.
The only one who stands apart is Pasupathy, as he always does. His is a sensitive portrayal of an honest barber who has to keep his family going under great difficulty. Meena, as his wife, matches him frame for frame in the movie. G V Prakash too is on a good wavelength with the current generation.
The original in Malayalam was a cut above the ordinary, thanks to Srinivasan. Vasu’s work looks like a haircut done with a pair of shears

Opposition to Rajini – fans tear up banners
Rajini's fans have shown displeasure at Rajini having apologized to the Kannadigas. They tore up Rajini banners at a theatre in Coimbatore screening 'Kuselan' and put people in a panic situation.
In the Hogenaikkal hunger strike, Rajini said miscreants should be thrashed. Kanndigas took umbrage to the remark and demanded apology from Rajini or they would not allow screening of 'Kuselan' in Karnataka. Apart from threats, they also indulged in protests.
In a televised interview at Hyderabad, Rajini expressed regret over his speech, and that he had learnt a lesson from the Kannadigas. Every time there's an uprising against the Tamils in Karnataka, the 2 people prominently encouraging it are rowdy gang leader Vattal Nagarajan and Narayana Gowda of Kannada Rakshana Vedika. In his interview, Rajini called them as his friends.
Unable to tolerate this, Rajini fans tore up his banners at the Archana theatre in Coimbatore. Police rushed to the spot and arrested the fans. Following this, there is extra security in theatres screening 'Kuselan.'
