I am amazed by the sudden moralistic posture of all FK users when there is a whiff of such news.......Are you guys trying to say that the whole of Kerala is so morally upright now that such an advert, i mean if at all it comes, will upset the moral applecart, so to say, of all malayalees. if nothing else it points to the complete lack of morality in our society and the hollow institutions we seem to be upholding.....
This is hypocrisy at its worst. The state of Kerala has most probably the highest per capita consumption of alcohol in our country and yet all these years i have not seen very few worthwhile attempts to stop this drift of our society especially our youth to the wine shops........
This is like some kind of latent socialism...which is normally asleep and which has suddenly become so potent with unbridled societal concern.........I mean a lot has been said about the decision of mammooty to refuse the cola ad.......but actually speaking.....do you know the kind of pesticide content that is there in meat, daals, rice, vegetables, fruits...which we all eat everyday.....nobody wants to talk about them....we all want to talk about things which gain instant publicity...like coke & pepsi because they are the MNC dragons.....Mohan lal because he is a star........and next what!! Let us get out of this knee jerk socialism which has been the bane of this great country....and our great state especially......
Let not this concern for society be reflected only at such times.....let it be more consistent....if by mohan lal not doing this ad the whole of kerala stops drinking then i will be the first person to support this tirade....but the facts are otherwise...
